High Street Cafe-Shangri La the Fort Buffet Choices

When you’re craving for seafood, steaks and desserts where do you usually go? Let’s admit you’ll be needing enough budget to have all of these and to satisfy your palate. Buffet is the common go-to of people  (of course with budget) who are up for a food trip. Here, you can have anything that you want. I know there are many buffet places in the metro, each of them has their own identity or trademark. But have you tried the buffet of High Street Cafe at the 2nd floor of Shangri-La the Fort in Bonifacio Global City? Recently wifey and I were able to join the sampling of their best dishes (new) through the invite of Zomato. I must say I am speechless, from the food preparation, the dishes and customer service of the staffs no doubt why people are raving about the High Street Cafe.

We tried several dishes that will be included in the buffet. I think as I’m writing this one it’s already available.=)  To give you an idea, their buffet prices starts at P1,200 (Breakfast), P1,550 (Lunch) and P1,980 (Dinner) for weekdays while a little bit higher during weekends. The amount may cut a big chunk from you wallet but trust me it’s worth it. From the salad bar they have the Mango Crab Salad, combination of avocado, ripe mango, crab meat and some leafy vegetables. It’s actually pretty good for a salad especially its dressing.

Pick from fresh tuna, crabs, shrimps and mussels at the Seafood Bar. You have many choices on how you personally want them. We tried the Tuna Ceviche, melt-in-your-mouth tuna with lemon instead of vinegar. It resembles the “kilawin” in a more sophisticated version. The tuna doesn’t have any after taste so you can guarantee that it’s fresh.

Ebi Tempura, the dish that’s hard to resist. Their version is a bit smaller but the fact that it has real shrimps not just pure breadings. I’m sure you will love it just like I did. The crispness is just perfect and the wasabi mayo added a slight kick to your taste buds.

Who doesn’t love lobsters??? Not everyday you can have a one on one encounter with this expensive crustacean. We tried the poached version, I had to squeezed some lemon to add some flavor to the lobster.

Meat-lover will surely enjoy their Dong Bao Pork stewed pork belly on top of clay pot rice. It is delicious especially the crisp rice at bottom part of the clay pot.

Another must try is the Beef Cheeks, these slow cooked beef cheeks are braised in a beautiful sauce infused with incredible flavour. They are so meltingly tender, you can eat it with a spoon. Perfectly accompanied with the creamy mashed potatoes. So yummy!

Rump Steak, soft and easy to chew meat that is full of flavors. I had mine with the peppercorn sauce, it was bursting in my mouth. I had to get another slice, happy tummy indeed!

My favorite part in any buffet is the dessert station. Oh yeah! Can you imagine how beautiful and classy these sweet treats are? They let us try the Molten Lava Cake, a dessert that is really “to die for”. A tablea cake with melted chocolate in the center topped with ricotta orange ice cream. Break into the cake while they’re still warm!

High Street Cafe also serves cocktails and mocktails infused with fresh fruits. For additional P600.00 you can have unlimited choices of your drinks especially prepared by their mixologists.
